Why start now

The early years are when a second language comes most naturally.

Young children pick up a new language through play, songs and everyday routines. Spanish becomes just another way they talk, not a subject they study.

  • You want your child to grow up bilingual, able to talk with more friends, family and neighbors here in Texas.
  • You may not speak Spanish at home. That's okay. At Dulce Hogar your child hears Spanish all day, every day.
  • A weekly class isn't enough. Children learn a language by living in it, which is what immersion means.
  • You want them ready for kindergarten, with early reading, counting and getting-along skills built in.

What makes us different

A sweet home, in Spanish

Spanish all day

Greetings, songs, stories, meals and play all happen in Spanish, so children learn the language the way they learned their first one.

Feels like home

"Dulce Hogar" means sweet home. Our setting is warm and welcoming, where every child is known by name and loved.

Ready for kindergarten

Early literacy, numbers, colors and shapes, plus sharing, listening and taking turns, all learned through play.

Culture and joy

Music, dance, art, stories and celebrations from Spanish-speaking countries help children love the language and the people who speak it.

Questions parents ask

Good questions, honest answers

Do we need to speak Spanish at home?

No. Most families in Spanish-immersion programs don't speak Spanish at home. Your child hears Spanish all day at school, and you keep speaking your home language. On the Parents page we share simple Spanish phrases you can learn together, if you'd like to.

Will my child fall behind in English?

Children in immersion programs keep growing their English at home and in the community. Learning a second language early adds to what they know rather than taking anything away. Ask Rocio on your tour how the day supports early reading and counting skills, too.

My child doesn't understand any Spanish yet. Is that okay?

Yes. Young children pick up meaning from routines, gestures, songs, pictures and the people around them. Teachers use the same phrases every day, so children understand quickly and begin answering when they're ready. It's normal for little ones to listen for a while before they speak.

What ages do you serve?

We welcome children [Ages served, e.g. 18 months–5 years].
