About Dulce Hogar

A sweet home where children grow up bilingual

Dulce Hogar means "sweet home." It's a small, home-based Spanish immersion preschool in New Braunfels, where children learn through play, creativity, nature, movement, curiosity and connection.

For more than 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families. Teaching has been such a meaningful part of my life, first in California and now, I’m so happy to be able to continue that journey here in Texas.

As a teacher, I’ve learned so much about children, learning, patience, and connection. As a mom of three boys, I’ve learned even more about love, letting go, listening, and creating a space where our children feel safe enough to grow into who they are.

I’m a Positive Discipline Certified educator, a former Head Start teacher, and a certified yoga teacher, and all of those experiences have shaped the way I see children and the kind of environment I want to create.

Dulce Hogar is my little way of bringing all of that together. A small, home-based Spanish immersion preschool here in New Braunfels, where learning will happen through play, creativity, nature, movement, curiosity, and connection.

I’ll also be offering Spanish immersion + arts & crafts for school-age children, because I couldn’t stop myself at preschool.

I’m so excited to finally say: This is Dulce Hogar.

Nurturing Hearts, Building a Better Future.

Corazones que nutren, un futuro mejor.

Con cariño, Rocio

How we teach

Immersion through play

We don't teach Spanish as a lesson. We live it together. Children hear it when they're greeted, when they wash their hands, when they build with blocks and when they listen to a story. Meaning comes from routines, gestures, pictures and songs, so even a child who has never heard Spanish feels at home quickly.

Learn by doing

Play-based activities build language, early literacy and number sense at the same time.

Same words, every day

Predictable routines and repeated phrases help children understand first, then speak.

Whole child

Kindness, patience, sharing and confidence matter as much as letters and numbers.

What we value

Our promise to families

Warm

Like family, never institutional.

Joyful

Sunshine, songs and play every day.

Trustworthy

Safe, licensed and open with parents.

Bilingual

Spanish first, and English-friendly for every family.
